Didactic Class about Phrasal Verbs with Digital Tools

Image
Didactic class application Phrasal Verbs For this presentation I planned and created the structure of my presentation according to the  homework indications to start with the canva presentation. After that I focused on looking for effective options and I decided to use Microsoft forms for the listening and speaking part and then Socrative for the reading and writting section, once I had my ideas in order and finally developed my activities I started to prepare for the oral part and also created the type of rubric that I wanted to use for the evaluative part. I think the biggest challenge that I faced during the development of this presentation was to find apps that could allow me to create diverse activities all in one. When I finally presented this in front of the audience I answered different questions about the way in which these apps could be used under a variation in the conditions of a real life classroom and this helped me to think of some quick solutions for the flaw...

How does digitalization affect basic skills in education?

Image
Technology is a great tool if we take into consideration all the functions that we have access to. Humanity evolved, and so did technology, everything around us has a little bit of that in its creation. But we also have the kind of technology that brought us into the digital age: smartphones, robots, computers, apps, AI, and even more. We have been learning and trying to keep up to date as much as possible. However, we are also losing our abilities, basic skills in manual tasks and even more concerning, we are losing control over our brain capacity. We cannot focus as we did before; our attention spans are becoming shorter and shorter. We want everything to be easy and instant, and so we never do anything entirely by ourselves anymore. We rely on shortcuts, quick fixes, and automated systems. We would forget everything but our phones. This growing dependency is changing how we process information and how we solve problems. Instead of thinking deeply or memorizing important facts, we Go...

What is Powtoon.com?

Image
Powtoon I did some research on this website to look for its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages to create a more complete view of its functions. Maybe the biggest challenge that I faced while working on this presentation was to find a more complete way to demonstrate Powtoon features due to the many limitations I found in the website. I created a power point presentation with some pictures as a guide to learn how to use the website properly, the way in which I interacted with the audience was through the explanation of all these aspects and I think that in future presentations I would record my screen to present everything "on live", maybe that way I could engage the audience more.

Flipgrid as an educational tool

Image
Flipgrid in the educational field. I did a lot of research about flipgrid on the internet to get information about it but I didn't find anything because the platform does not exist anymore so I looked for youtube videos explaining its use and then I studied as many details as I could. The biggest challenge during the creation of this presentation was definitely the lack of information about Flip, I did a canva presentation with as much information as I could recollect about this app and while presenting I made sure to evacuate the main questions about this topic, for future presentations I think that I'd try to find more interactive ways to present.

Tecnology in Education: Beyond access

Image
In my opinion, these days there are many people who have a lot of problems using technology even though we live in a digital age. Everyone thinks that we already know everything with the tools in our hands (WiFi, internet, apps, artificial intelligence)but the truth is, having access to these tools doesn't mean we fully understand how to use them. Yet, despite all these things, we don't know it all, and we are probably more limited than before, just by the fact that we think everything is done, so we don't take the time to learn anything completely. This false sense of mastery can actually create significant gaps in digital literacy. A big problem and result of this shows in the educational field. During the pandemic, many professors didn't know how to use essential digital tools like video conferencing platforms, online grading systems, or collaborative platforms such as Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. Even more concerning, many others didn't even want to lea...
